The full updated list revealing the number of new coronavirus cases and the seven-day rate of Covid-19 for every council and borough has been released, covering some of the period leading up to the August bank holiday.

For the seven days before August 24, 305 positive coronavirus cases were confirmed across south London and north Kent – up nearly 100 since the previous week.

The stats, based on tests across the country, show the rate of new confirmed coronavirus cases over the last seven days, expressed per 100,000 population.

Wandsworth currently has the highest level of new cases in south London, with a rate of infection of 18.8, up from 10.6 last week following 62 new cases in seven days.

Lewisham saw 32 new cases in the past week, bringing its rate of new cases up to 10.5 from 6.5.

Sutton’s rate of infection showed a large increase from 4.8 to 10.2 after recording 21 new cases, whilst Croydon saw its rate rise from 6.5 to 7.2 after recording 25 new cases.

Richmond and Twickenham Times:

Merton’s rate of cases fell from 10.7 to 8.7, with 18 new cases.

Richmond upon Thames saw a decrease from 18.7 down to 10.1 after recording 20 new cases, while neighbouring Kingston upon Thames dropped from 13.5 to 7.9, with 14 new cases.

In the south east of the capital, both Bromley (33 new cases) and Bexley’s (10) rate of new cases rose from 8.7 to 9.9 and from 4.4 to 9.3 respectively.

Greenwich (16) saw its rate rise from 4.9 to 5.6, while Dartford's (6) rate of new cases is 5.3, down from 8.9.

The list has been calculated by the PA news agency and is based on Public Health England data published on August 28 on the Government's coronavirus online dashboard.

Data for the most recent three days (August 25-27) has been excluded as it is incomplete and likely to be revised.

In the UK, 123 new cases were recorded in Oldham in the seven days up to August 24 - the equivalent of 51.9 per 100,000 people.

The highest rate is in Pendle at 57.5, down from 81.4, with 53 new cases.
