AN interior designer is encouraging people to take part in a crafts challenge this summer.
Former Changing Rooms star Linda Barker has helped to launch the Home Is Where The Craft Is campaign in aid of homeless prevention charity Homelink.
The Lewes charity is inviting makers of all ages and abilities to create and donate a handcrafted item for the home or garden. All types and styles of creations are welcome as donations, from paintings and upcycled furniture to home-made quilts, knitted throws, ceramics, mosaics, decorated flower pots and garden sculptures.
Homelink will be showcasing all the creations on its social media platforms in August and September.
A judging panel, including Linda and Brighton-based designer Oliver Heath will be awarding prizes for their favourites on World Homeless Day on October 10.
There will also be an online auction with all proceeds going to Homelink’s #home4families campaign, which supports the charity’s work to help homeless families in need.
Linda said: “Taking part in Home Is Where The Craft Is is a great way of setting yourself a personal design challenge or getting creative with friends and family, while showing support for Homelink’s #homes4families campaign.
“I’m really looking forward to seeing how creative people will be.”
