A man has died after falling from a multi-story car park next to a shopping centre in Gravesend.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on Friday evening (July 3), around 7.20pm, after receiving reports that a man had fallen from the building on Clive Road next to the Thames Gate Shopping Centre.
A spokesperson for Kent Police confirmed that he had been pronounced dead at the scene after the arrival of emergency services including paramedics and police.
In response to a request from News Shopper, Kent Police said:
"Kent Police was called at 7.20pm on 3 July 2020 to a report a man had fallen from a multi-storey car park in Clive Road, Gravesend.
"Officers attended along with the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
"A man in his 60s, from Gravesend, was declared deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed.
Images on social media showed a significant cordon established by police in the wake of the incident.
However, the Kent Police spokesperson said that death of the man, whose identity remains unknown at present, was not being treated as suspicious:
"The death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be prepared for the coroner."
