A man was pronounced dead in Mitcham this morning after emergency services were called to reports of a man having collapsed in the street.

Officers were called to Monarch Parade in London Road, opposite Mitcham Library, at around 7.15am this morning.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers provided first aid before an ambulance arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.

The man, believed to be aged in his mid-30s, has not yet been identified by emergency services - but his next of kin has been informed.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained, but is believed to be non-suspicious.

No arrests have been made at the time of publishing, but an investigation is ongoing.
