A peaceful protest is set to be held in Sutton this weekend in support of the Black Lives Matter movement.
Following on from a series of protests in the wake of the killing of Black American, George Floyd, while in the custody of police in the US, residents plan to gather opposite St Helier Hospital in solidarity.
The protest, described as a family-friendly event, is set to take place between 1.30pm and 3pm on Saturday (June 20) on the open space opposite the hospital in Wrythe Lane.
Residents joining in are urged to wear face masks and maintain social distancing guidelines.
Organisers said "several local councillors and the Mayor of Sutton, Trish Fivey" are due to attend the event.
