Hundreds of people from various Watford businesses came together to record a message of thanks to Watford General Hospital for their hard working during the coronavirus pandemic.

The Watford Chamber of Commerce brought together a team of local businesses in a short film called ‘Spirit of Goodwill’.

Collaborating with the short movie production team Think About It Films, the team brought together a hundred people from around 20 businesses to share thankful messages to key workers at Watford General and local hospices, which underwent a lot of stress during the pandemic.

In just under a month, the short film was completed.

In the film, many representatives from local businesses held up 'thank you' place cards for the work of keyworkers during the peak of the lockdown.

Watford Observer:

Chris Luff, the CEO of Watford Chamber of Commerce, requested that the film was the “biggest film” the team had ever made.

Watford Observer:

Ian Port from Think About It films said: “We’d been lucky to have kept working though lockdown, by repurposing films and making an advert for Watford Together, but it was great to knuckle down on a fresh project.

“What became clear was the Chamber’s network had come into its own- a ready made network of Watford based companies, all committed to donating time, skills, foodstuffs, space and crucially energy and passion.

“The facts are astonishing - for example, 20,000 Wenzel’s donuts donated to Watford General, Watford FC becoming a chill out space for exhausted NHS staff and The Grove’s team providing deliciously cooked food, some delivered by an undercover Hertfordshire Sherriff, directly to people’s homes; the list of goodwill goes on and on!”
