An elderly man has died after he was hit by a van.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident which happened last night (June 16) at around 6pm at Markhouse Road, Walthamstow.
The man, 71, was walking near the junction at Queens Road as he was hit by a white Volkswagen van.
The driver of the van stopped at the scene and the man was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.
But the man died a short while later, his family have been informed and no arrests were made.
The inquiry is being led by officers from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
