A man with MS has completed 1000 pull-ups to raise money for MS Society Sutton.

Robert Griffiths, 28, from Cheam, decided to do 1000 pull-ups to help give back to the charity, which has helped him 'massively' with his condition.

Since being diagnosed with MS in 2015, Robert has received an immense amount of support from MS Society Sutton.

The charity has helped Robert learn how to cope with his symptoms which started with fatigue, weakness in the legs, balance and urine urgency.

After being diagnosed, Roberts symptoms quickly developed into numbness over the entire left side of his body, poor grip in both hands, mental fatigue and forgetfulness.

Years later, Robert has been able to combat his condition and has raised over £1000 for MS Society Sutton.

Speaking to Sutton Guardian, Robert Griffiths, said: "I wanted to do this challenge to help MS Society raise money after the cancellation of their fundraising events.

"Since diagnosis, I have been involved in walks, hikes and charitable collecting around the Sutton borough- this was an attempt to match or beat what I've raised in previous years.

"I enjoy doing things that MS has previously stopped me from doing.

"I know that the money raised goes towards research for new treatments and an eventual cure as well as helping those with MS in need today.

"The challenge went extremely well, it got harder and harder as the days passed and my arms became fatigued.

"I am happily amazed by all the supporters who have sponsored me.

"I still cannot believe how much I have raised."

Robert started his challenge on May 13 and completed the challenge last week, on May 29.
