A fish and chip shop owner has donated more than 100 meals to homeless people.
Harry Kyriakou, 39, the owner of The Corner Plaice in Croxley Green gave homeless charity New Hope 130 portions of fish and chips on Wednesday (April 22).
The Watford-based charity said it is supporting 70 people who were rough sleeping and who are now in temporary accommodation, and 55 people who are already living in the charity's accommodation services.
Mr Kyriakou, who has worked in the shop since he was 13, said after his business was forced to close due to lockdown restrictions, he had an excess amount of produce which he could not use.
A woman from the charity approached him for donations and he gave her potatoes from his food stock. After deciding to re-open only for delivery, he made a big order of fish to make sure there was plenty of food so he could continue running his business.

He then reached out to New Hope to donate 130 meals for rough sleepers and he said the response from the charity was overwhelmingly positive.
He said: "I thought if I couldn't get rid of the stock I will get in contact with the charity again.
"I was just trying to do something good and help others. The donation meant that 130 people were able to stay indoors and have a meal."
