Met Police officers from Kingston and Richmond paid homage to NHS workers at Kingston Hospital last night (April 2) as part of the #ClapForCarers initiative.

They joined millions of other Britons across the country applauding on Thursday evening the essential workers who are on the frontlines of tackling the Covid-19 coronavirus epidemic in the UK.

Mirroring a similar salute they conducted last week, officers and police vehicles descended en masse (while maintaining social distancing) at Kingston Hospital to salute the nurses, doctors, cleaners, caterers and other support staff helping slow the spread of Covid-19 in the area.

"Again all available #ERTE officers from @MPSKingston + @MPSRichmond show the respect due to @KingstonHospNHS + @Ldn_Ambulance as part of #clapforNHS! Amazing work by the #NHS helping solve #COVID19!

"#Thanks to all @NHSuk from us fellow #keyworkers and the whole #UK #ClapForCarers," the Kingston MPS Twitter account posted on Thursday night.
