A man has appeared in court accused of the murder of 18-year-old Cameron Murfitt in Woolwich last month.

The teenager died from stab wounds in the Woolwich Common area on Sunday, March 15.

Mario Gruda, from south east London, appeared at the Old Bailey for a preliminary hearing on March 31.

It is alleged that Gruda, 22, drove at the victim in a vehicle before a second person got out and stabbed him.

A 17-year-old has also been charged with murder.

Gruda appeared in front of Judge Mark Lucraft QC via prison video link while lawyers and court reporters attended by telephone conference.

Judge Lucraft set a plea hearing for June 16 and remanded Gruda into custody.

The 17-year-old youth is due to appear at the Old Bailey on Wednesday.

It was previously reported that Cameron had been cycling along the road, when he was involved in a crash with a white car.

A suspect was then said to have climbed out the car and stabbed him.
