Kingston Police paid homage to the petrol garages providing them and other emergency services free fuel on demand at the pump during the coronavirus pandemic.
Taking to Twitter on Sunday (March 29), a spokesperson for the borough Met Police force thanked the BP garage who had provided free petrol to their vehicles while out on patrol on Saturday amid the Covid-19 coronavirus lockdown.
"Overnight two #ERTA units went to fill up with #fuel at BP, costing £140.
"Our #EmergencyResponse vehicles refuel roughly every 2 days.
"BP's offer to provide #freefuel to the #emergencyservices during #Covid19UK will cost them millions. #ThankYou BP for your generous support!"
BP announced previously their offer of free fuel to all emergency workers including NHS nurses and doctors and the police as Covid-19 ramped up pressure on their jobs.
