Goldsmiths University has suspended all face-to-face teaching due to the coronavirus outbreak.
The New Cross campus is remaining open, with enhanced cleaning measures in place, as lecturers look to transfer as much teaching as possible to online platforms.
This week is to be treated as an extra reading week, with online teaching beginning on March 23.
A spokesperson for the university said: "Heads of Department and Goldsmiths Critical Incident Group met this morning and made a number of important decisions about the teaching, assessments and operation of the university.
"All face-to-face teaching will be suspended immediately.
"Online teaching provision will begin next week. We realise online delivery may not be possible for everything Goldsmiths teaches, practice-based departments are looking at alternatives.
"There are many students for whom Goldsmiths is home and who are unable to leave. It’s important we keep facilities open for them.
"The campus and library will be open with enhanced public health and hygiene measures continuing across campus."
Summer graduation ceremonies have also been cancelled, as the university looks for ways to allow students to complete their degrees.
