A HOUSING developer in Malpas is looking for a locally based charity to lend support to.

McCarthy and Stone, who are currently constructing a retirement living development in Old Hall Street, are willing to put forward up to £500 towards a deserving community group.

The appeal is for a charity, neighbourhood project or one-off community and local groups and good causes are urged to get in touch by emailing requests to mccarthyandstone@mccann.com by midnight on Friday, February 21.

Applicants are encouraged to include Malpas Community Appeal in the subject header and to detail the reasons why they would benefit from a donation of up to £500.

Fiona Brooks, divisional sales director at McCarthy and Stone, said she wants to create a lasting legacy within Malpas.

"Our fundamental aim when creating a development is to support and integrate McCarthy and Stone and our future residents into the local community," said Fiona.

"Our developments are created with community in mind, and supporting charities or neighbourhood projects allows us to create a positive legacy.

"We look forward to reviewing the applications from groups in Malpas, and to further cement our ties with the area, by supporting worthwhile causes which are making a real difference to local lives."
