Police have issued an update following an attack in Beddington earlier this week.

Officers were called at 9.09pm on Monday, February 17 to reports of a concern for safety of a woman on Beddington Lane.

"It was reported that a man and a woman were seen having an altercation," a Met spokeswoman has said.

"The woman is believed to have been on the bonnet of the car when it drove away at speed and she fell off.

"She was then forced into the car and driven away."

Officers were later notified by the London Ambulance Service that a woman, believed to be the same person, had been taken to hospital from a nearby home.

She currently remains in hospital in a non-life threatening condition, although the victim's mother has said she is unconscious.

A witness, who did not want to be named, said: “I have just spoken to the woman’s mother.

"She has just visited her daughter in hospital and wanted to speak to me to piece together what happened.

"She confirmed that the driver was the woman’s other half and that they are from Carshalton, just three miles away from where the incident happened."

Police enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made. The Met also added that it is not believed the victim was run over.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 with CAD 7884/17FEB.
