Richmond has seen its 10th day in a row without electrical and gas supply with hundreds of homes still affected across Richmond.

Cadent continue their major operation to restore gas supplies in TW9.

In an update this morning, Cadent confirmed they are actively checking gas pressures at more than 15 points across Richmond.

Once results are found, Cadent can decide on whether they can start restoring more gas supplies.

A statement from Richmond Council this morning (February 01) said:

"Cadent have been able to restore supply to several hundred more properties that have been without gas since last week.

"We know many residents who are still off-gas are desperate for news on when they will be switched back on.

"Cadent want to have confidence that when they restore household’s gas, it stays on.

"They will be testing and monitoring and have around 50 engineers here in Richmond ready to knock door-to-door as soon as they can.

"Cadent have been actively switching on supplies in the Lower Mortlake Road area, as well as roads that run off it.

"Engineers are also continually checking pressures in these and all of the other affected areas."

In the meantime, residents have been advised to not try and restore their gas supply as only qualified engineers can carry out works.

Once Cadent has restored gas to streets they will then need access to residential homes to check gas is flowing safely to gas appliances.

Cadent has asked residents to ensure that they will be home so that Cadent can check to see if the gas supply is up and running.

UK Power Network has agreed to offer alternative accommodation to any customers without gas and electricity.

Anyone who fits requirements is to contact them on 0800 316 3105.

If residents need to make alternative arrangements, they are advised to contact Cadent on 0345 835 1111 or to pop down to Richmond Hill Hotel to speak with a member of its customer team.
