Conor Gallagher’s Charlton departure have left the Addicks faithful split.
Chelsea recalled their youngster after impressing during the first half of the season, cutting short the season-long loan deal in place.
With six goals and three assists the 19-year-old became an integral part of Lee Bowyer’s midfield, becoming a virtual ever-present during the first half of the season.
His all action displays and commitment to the Addicks made the last year's Chelsea Academy Player Of The Year a fan favourite at The Valley.
I always preferred Gerrard to Lampard anyway #CAFC thanks for the memories Gallagher and don't score if you play us again this season

Only thing that will help me get over Conor Gallagher leaving is Josh Cullen signing on a permanent #CAFC

Sad about Gallagher but its not the end of the world. Just means morgan has to step up #cafc

Let's be honest, the moment Gallagher put that man bun in his hair for Saturdays game it was time to say our goodbyes anyway #cafc
— paul (@paulthecab) January 14, 2020
Well that’s a kick in the teeth from Chelsea. But who can blame them. He’s their player after all. Gallagher has been quality #cafc

Sad he's gone, but I hope Conor Gallagher gets a move to a lower PL club #CAFC

No, no, no , no , no..... bloody awful news. Arguably one of our best player's of the season, his creativity and dribbling skills will be a major loss. Also chelsea should have left him on loan with Charlton because he was developing all the time and getting regular game time.

Gutted doing superb here ,good luck to him gave us everything.
— william Daly (@WilliamDaly68) January 14, 2020
Awful decision but all the best. If anything he played more than he would’ve with us due to an injury stricken squad
— SAMI 🔴⚪️ CAFC (@SamiTurkish21) January 14, 2020
good luck to Conor Gallagher it’s been a pleasure having you here. Good luck to wherever you go. #cafc
— Jamie Goddard (@JamieFromUK) January 14, 2020
Conor Gallagher has been superb for us this season ! Good luck for the future and gutted you won’t be playing again for #cafc
— Simon Bruce (@Bruce21Simon) January 14, 2020
Conor Gallagher- not on Twitter, but thanks for a SUPERB half a season at #cafc.
— Henry Irving (@HenryIrving10) January 14, 2020
Even in the 94th min at Swansea last week, you were closing down players.
You will go on to play for England 🏴 👍👏
Good luck.
We’d be in the relegation zone without him

Not many players i see and think, fuck he is going to be special!! The worst part is he already is special. Tough one to take at this stage of a tough season. Thanks and all the best to you in your future, Conor Gallagher! #cafc pic.twitter.com/Zr1GTSCXcQ

With many, including Chelsea fans feeling his parent club have made the wring decision in recalling the midfielder.
pretty much all chelsea fans want him to stay at cafc. makes no sense from the club to take him from a good situation. very baffling.

Huge gamble from Chelsea to recall Gallagher in my view. Not near the Chelsea first team. Will be loaned out next season. Was a hero here guaranteed first team football. Also gutted with Bowyer’s response. Surely he should just be saying we will replace him immediately #cafc
— Toon Addick (@tomsmith641) January 14, 2020
On a side now chelsea are back to doing what Chelsea do best, ruining the progression of their youth stars. Mount abraham and tomori are an exception. Gallagher isnt gonna develop at the same rate as he was here under anyone except bows #cafc #cfc
— Thomas Connor (@injuredpotato) January 14, 2020
I’d be excited for Gallagher if he goes and gets premier league experience, he deserves it. I believe that if he continues to progress he will be a strong England prospect. But to another championship club? Fucking stupid nonces. #cafc
— Jack Haines (@Jackhaines_) January 14, 2020
chelsea should at least have the decency to tell us why they recalled Gallagher. If its purely money and they prefer for another club to pick up all his wages then shame on them. Putting saving money over the players development. #cafc
— Jimmy Hart (@JimmyHart_) January 14, 2020
The best thing for Gallagher and Chelsea I think would be to keep him at Chelsea for the next six months. And when winning 2 3 4 -0 then bring him on for a bit of prem football #cfc #cafc
— hendrik johan (@HJCruyff) January 14, 2020
Gallagher going back to Chelsea... why? Seriously yes the kid would be mustard in a top 6 team but if they reckon he’s going to get week in week out 90 mins they’re off their head🤬🤯 #CAFC
