Met police in Teddington have issued another safety warning after a number of 'distraction thefts' had been reported over the festive season.
A statement posted online by Met Police in Teddington said: "We've had another reported distraction theft.
"Motorist distracted by a suspect whilst using the parking machine.
"Once the PIN was entered the card was swiped and over £500 used from the victim's bank account.
Please be wary of your surroundings and report anything suspect."
Distraction theft can be defined as a crime which involves drawing a person's attention under a false pretext.
It is during which time another accomplice will attempt to steal valuables and money from the unsuspecting victim.
