Residents can do their bit for the environment over the festive season by recycling their Christmas cards.
Most cards are paper based and can be recycled, along with their envelopes.
Richmond is encouraging residents to recycle the Christmas cards and other festive bits by adding them to their household recycling collection and other locations like household recycling centres or collection banks at supermarkets.
Residents should also be aware that embellishments such as ribbons or glitter cannot be recycled so should it is advised that they should be removed first.
This can be done by simply tearing of that section of the card or envelope.
And, batteries should also be removed from musical cards and disposed of at battery recycling points.
