“Kathleen shall continue to fight for the clean break from the power of the E.U. we have hoped for and to see Britain rejoin the majority of the world as a free nation.”

Anna Jones – Liberal Democrats

Your Local Guardian:

Anna moved to the area in 2013 and her daughter attended Riddlesdown Collegiate.

She was a councillor in Epsom for eight years and sat on the planning committee.

Anna said: “As a Councillor, I worked closely with colleagues from all parties to reach consensus on planning issues, as I believe that using a local problem as a political football always leaves residents worse off.

“I’m passionate about the rights of those with disabilities and have been campaigning for better mental health services in Croydon as I know that lack of funding is putting people’s lives at risk.”

Chris Philp – Conservative

Your Local Guardian:

Chris Philp is standing for re-election after first being elected four years ago.

He said helping the NHS in Croydon is one of his priorities after his twins were born 25 weeks premature in 2013 – The NHS saved their lives.

Chris said: “I have delivered real results for our neighbourhood. This has included securing £350m for track upgrades to the mainline through Croydon, securing a brand new £21m new A&E for Croydon Hospital and successfully lobbying for a one-third cut to business rates to help small shops – which was inspired by Purley shopkeepers.”

Peter Underwood – Green Party

Your Local Guardian:

Peter is in favour of a People’s Vote on Brexit and would focus on the climate emergency.

He said: “I am standing to give people a chance to vote for a politician they can trust. In the Green Party we don’t just make election promises that are forgotten as soon as the votes are counted. We stand up for the issues we believe in.

“We want to invest in the future of our country and end the devastating cuts to our public services. Our Green New Deal will provide sustainable jobs, better housing, improved public transport, and so much more.”
