Commuters travelling through Richmond Station can soon expect to see four new stores opening as part of a £100,000 investment from South Western Railway (SWR).

Cards Galore, Digby's Patisserie, G.R.E.A.T. Flowers and Puccino's Café are all scheduled to open, however SWR have not confirmed the exact dates for each store opening.

Alistair Wright, SWR’s Head of Station Property, said: "We’re committed to improving the passenger experience at our stations as well as on our trains.

"Over the course of the franchise, we’re investing to improve the look, feel and quality of retail outlets across the network.

"We aim to offer our passengers a wide choice of outlets, so they’re spoilt for choice on their daily commute."

Every year 13 million passengers pass through Richmond station.

These new retailers are a part of a near £1m investment by SWR - over the course of the franchise - to enhance the customer shopping experience by improving the quality of physical retail space at stations across SWR’s network.

The investment will see improvements to shop frontages, new energy efficiency measures, and create extra premises in existing retail space, to encourage more high-quality outlets into its stations.

There are12 stations that will receive investment which include:

  • Farncombe

  • Sunningdale
  • Claygate
  • Haslemere
