Do you recognise this man?

Detectives investigating the theft of a high-value violin from a train in South London are today releasing this image in connection.

On October 22, the victim was travelling on the 10.58pm service from London Victoria to Orpington and placed his violin, worth over £250,000, in the overheard luggage rack.

He accidentally left the violin in the luggage rack when he left the train.

As the train approached Bromley South, another man took the violin and left the train, before boarding a connecting train to St Mary Cray.

Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information which could help their investigation.
