POWER tools worth hundreds of pounds have been stolen from a van in Poole.

Thieves smashed the window of the vehicle, which was parked in Rossmore Road, Newtown, and cut open the metal cage in the back.

A Makita screw gun, a chop saw and a Hitachi nail gun and box were taken.

The van was targeted between 7.15am on Monday (Sept 16) and 7.10am on Wednesday.(Sept 18)

Two separate attempted thefts from vehicles have also occurred in Poole in recent days.

On Tuesday (Sept 17), sometime after 10.43am, a vehicle was broken into outside an address in Charlotte Close, Branksome East. Nothing was stolen.

Meanwhile, at Beamish Road, Canford Heath, between 5.30pm on Monday (Sept 16) and 5.30pm on Tuesday (Sept 17), thieves attempted to break into a parked vehicle by drilling two holes beneath the door lock.
