A driver was arrested for impersonating a police officer in Lewisham after he was allegedly seen flashing blue lights to overtake members of the public.
The man was reportedly found with a baton, pair of handcuffs and radio attached to a belt on his person after being stopped by genuine officers early Sunday morning.
He was arrested, interviewed and subsequently charged on for possession of an offensive weapon, impersonating a police officer and driving without due care and attention.
He has since been bailed to court.
A spokesperson for Lewisham police said: "Officers from response team E have arrested a male for impersonating a police Officer and possession of an offensive weapon after they saw him using blue lights and sirens to over take members of the public.
"The male also had a police style baton, handcuffs and radio on a belt."
