Two councillors have unveiled two new benches in Bridge House Gardens which symbolise 'community spirit.'
Cllr Nancy Baldwin, Mayor of Richmond and Cllr James Chard, Deputy Mayor, inaugurated the benches on August 21.
Mayor Baldwin said: “These two benches are an admirable example of people in the local community coming together to make life in this picturesque spot beside the river and our iconic bridge a bit more enjoyable for everyone, residents and visitors alike.”
Richmond Parks Department installed the benches which are also sponsored by the Richmond Society - the safeguard for the borough's open spaces and fine buildings.
The benches can be found at the Bridge House Gardens - public open land overlooking the Thames, where several benches were located until a few years ago.
