Chuks Aneke is available for Charlton’s trip to Reading but Deji Olishaja has been ruled out.

Aneke has missed the Addicks last outing through illness but is expected to return, whilst OIishaja left the field after half an hour with a thigh strain in the 1-0 win over Brentford.

"Deji should only miss this game, it’s not too bad,” Bowyer said.

“The international break is helping us there, it’s probably a two-week injury but by the time we come back from the international break he’ll be ready for the next game."

The manager also gave fitness updates on the summer recruits Ehrun Oztumer, Tomer Hemed and Biram Kayal.

Oztumer and Hemed made their Valley debut’s against Nottingham Forest and Brentford respectively over the last ten days, but on-loan Brighton man Kayal has yet to make his bow as he recovers from injury.

“They need to get fitter, it’s not their fault, they’ve not done anything through pre-season,” Bowyer continued.

“Kayal has just come back from injury, he played a game behind closed doors, 75 minutes, it was baking hot.

“It was difficult to get anything out of it apart from minutes, but he was the one that stood out for me.

“The other two will get fitter, work hard and we’ll get them up to speed.”
