A Slade Green pre-school has been slammed by an education watchdog for letting standards slip following their second inspection this year.
Happygems Pre-School and After School Club, based in the Slade Green & Howbury Community Centre & Library, was rated "inadequate" across the board by Ofsted inspectors over a number of issues, including staffing.
According to Ofsted's report, the pre-school manager "does not ensure there are enough staff at the start of the day" and fails to ensure staff are "deployed effectively to meet children's needs and to keep them safe."
It was also noted that staff failed to log their hours while working at the pre-school with inspectors reporting that it was "not clear" who takes children to school and who is present throughout the day.
Concerns were also raised regarding children being left "restless" while waiting on staff to set up activities.
However, Happygems was merited by the attending children who expressed their content at the care they receive by staff.
Standards at the Slade Green daycare centre have continued to slip since their previous inspection in January in which inspectors initially rated the facility as "inadequate".
Ofsted have since suggested a number of actions be taken in order to improve the quality of learning being provided at Happygems.
An attempt was made to contact Happygems Pre-School and After School Club Slade Green.
