A fundraiser has been set up to help cover the costs of the funeral of a man who was murdered in Kidbrooke.

Leo Marcus was just 22-years-old when he was stabbed to death for not handing over his phone.

A family friend, Kirk, who set up the page said: "Leo was 22-years-old and was looking forward to many years of healthy life ahead of him.

"Sadly, his life was abruptly ended during a mindless attack in broad daylight because he refused to give over his mobile telephone whilst being robbed of his possessions."

He said that the immediate concern is the cost of the funeral and so is asking for anything that might help.

Kirk said: "Leo was very young, and very intelligent and I just want to try and get some good out of a bad situation.

"I truly cannot understand how you go from mugging someone to murdering them."

A teenager has now been charged with his murder.

Shackim Taylor, 19, of Gunyard Mews, was arrested on Sunday before being charged in the last few hours for murder, robbery and possession of an offensive weapon.

Leo was repeatedly stabbed in broad daylight in Tellson Avenue on the afternoon of July 10.
