Arsenal forward Eddie Nketiah has admitted he may need to seek a loan move to further his Emirates career with Charlton interested.

The 20-year-old is keen to enhance his chances of game time with the Premier League outfit but with Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang ahead of him, chances under Unai Emery may be slim.

Charlton have been linked with the Arsenal youth product but will not be alone in their pursuit with Bristol City, Augsburg and Birmingham City interested.

Danny Welbeck’s release should push Nketiah further up Emery’s pecking order but with the manager keen to recruit another proven scorer the Lewisham born striker has no guarantees.

He was expected to move to Augsburg in January on-loan but nothing materialised leaving the youngster with only a handful of cameo appearances in the league and cup competitions for the Gunners.

"It was disappointing the loan [to Augsburg] fell through as I wanted to play every game but my goal is to play for Arsenal," he told Football London.

"There were talks of a loan in January and of course that's an option now but it's not completely down to me. I need to speak to the manager."

"At the moment I'm just focusing on going back to Arsenal and giving my all and seeing where it gets me.

"Whichever way I go about it my end goal is to play for Arsenal."

Nketiah insists Arsenal is his priority but was aware he may need to look elsewhere to prove that he’s worthy of a starting spot in North London, comments that will make Lee Bowyer, as well as other suitors interested.
