Traffic is now starting to be released following an eight vehicle crash on the A2 involving two lorries which was reported to police at around 4.25pm.

Officers from Kent Police are currently at the scene along with ambulance crews.

An air ambulance is believed to have landed a short while ago. 

Congestion was reported back to the Danson Interchange with reported tailbacks for eight and a half miles.

This is separate to the earlier lorry crash on the M25 which has since been cleared.

Where possible drivers are advised to seek alternative routes.

Traffic in the area will also face further delays due to an earlier, separate lorry crash on the M25 which is causing more delays of more than an hour.
