Members from Kingston's Liberal Synagogue (KLS) attended the annual Jewish-Muslim Women's Conference in central London this weekend (April 6-7).
The conference is hosted by Nisa-Nashim, a Jewish-Muslim organisation that focuses on community outreach and joint grassroots programmes throughout the UK.
Over 200 women helped to mark the annual conference's third successive year, KLS said.
A range of well-known speakers led informative discussions at what represents Europe's only Jewish-Muslim women's conference.
Among them were Cressida Dick, the Metropolitan Police Commissioner, Debbie Weekes-Bernard, London’s Deputy Mayor, and Rachel Riley, the Countdown presenter who is currently active in the fight against antisemitism and other forms of xenophobia.
KLS member Rebecca Singerman-Knight said: "At a time when we hear so much about antisemitism and Islamophobia it was really refreshing to attend such a positive and uplifting event.
"Everyone there was committed to working together across our communities to bring an end to the hatred and to increase tolerance and understanding. I left the event feeling much more positive about the future."
