A man has been charged with assaulting police and criminal damage after an incident in Hampton yesterday.
Reports emerged during the afternoon of a significant police presence in the Percy Road area outside Hampton Junior School.
A Met Police spokesman confirmed today 34-year-old Luke Pearce, of no fixed address, was arrested following an incident in Newfield Close, which joins onto Percy Road.
A statement read: "A man has been charged with a number of offences following an incident in Newfield Close, Richmond on Wednesday, April 3.
Luke Pearce, 34, of no fixed abode, was arrested in Newfield Close, Richmond and later charged with possession of cannabis, three counts of assault on police and causing criminal damage to a custody cell."
Pearce is due to make his first appearance at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court today (April 4).
