A person has died after being hit by a train earlier today.
British Transport Police were called to Barnes station shortly after 11am following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended alongside officers, however a person has sadly been pronounced dead at the scene," a BTP spokesman said.
"Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family.
"This incident is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
In order to allow emergency services to access the railway, all power to the track were switched off for almost 90 minutes by National Rail.
Trains are now running again but people have been advised that there could be further cancellations and delayed by up to 30 minutes.
This is expected until at least 3pm
