Get your tastebuds ready for something new as Marmite peanut butter is set to launch.

As one of the nation’s favourite toast-toppers, the folk at Marmite think they have found a way to make breakfast even better, combining crunchy peanut butter with the yeasty taste of the savoury spread.

The people at Marmite believe they are helping us when it comes to choosing which topping to have on our toast.

As the first permanent product innovation since the brand was established in 1902, the spread has been created apparently in response to overwhelming demand.

For years, Marmite fanatics have been concocting their own yeasty peanut butter combinations and taking to social media to showcase these tempting creations.

It’s not just the general public that are already nuts about this perfect pairing, celebs such as John Barrowman, Joey Essex and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, have been creating their own spread.

The new recipe "retains the classic umami taste of Marmite but mingles the flavours with the smooth and salty flavour of peanut butter to create a delightfully savoury blend".

Camilla Williamson, brand manager at Marmite, said: The British public asked, and we listened. We’re delighted to bring the nation exactly what they’ve been craving with the creation of Marmite Peanut Butter.

“It’s the most exciting product launch since the conception of the brand in 1902 and we’re confident that the nation is going to love it. They ain’t tasted nuttin yet.”

The jars will be available to order online at Ocado.com from March 25 at £2.50.

The jars will then become available in store at Sainsbury’s from April 7 before rolling out to all leading nationwide retailers.
