A mother of three has been left furious after finding out the changing rooms at the new Primark in Bluewater are 'gender-neutral'.

Jerri Lee lives in Bexley, so the store at Bluewater was going to be her new store of choice.

However, she fears for the safety of young girls, now she knows that anyone can use the changing rooms.

She said there is only a flimsy curtain between young girls changing and any man that walks in.

Jerri told News Shopper: "I don’t think Primark have considered their female shoppers at all.

"They have pandered to the minority to be politically correct or trying to gain brownie points whilst making the masses feel uncomfortable."

The mother of three says she feels most sorry for young girls who feel self-concious growing up as it is.

In an Instagram post she asked: "Why put them at a potential risk or take away from their independence to safeguard them from possible paedo dangers?"

She continued: "We all know those curtains aren’t secure. And to have doors in a mixed area would also be a safety risk in my opinion unless they were manned constantly whilst the store was open."

Primark opened at Bluewater on March 13, with over 1,000 people waiting outside to be the first shoppers.

A spokesperson from Primark said: "“It has been our policy for some time that all customers are welcome to use the fitting rooms of their choice in our stores.

"As part of our latest in-store design, non-gendered fitting rooms, which are commonplace in retail and other markets in which we operate, have been introduced in our new Bluewater store.”

However, is this good enough?

Jerri said: "I don’t agree with it at all. It makes me very uncomfortable. I am disappointed that Primark have not given their customers any other option."
