A man is due to appear in court later this month charged over a Twickenham hit-and-run.

Police were called by London Ambulance Service at 1.31pm on January 23 to reports of a crash involving a silver VW and a pedestrian in St Margaret's Road.

The 19-year-old pedestrian was taken to a west London hospital where he initially in critical condition, but has since recovered.

The vehicle did not stop at the scene.

Normunds Aleksandrovs, 43 of Church Road in Richmond has since been charged with failing to stop and driving without insurance following the crash.

He is set to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on Tuesday, March 19.
