For most kids, birthdays are all about getting gifts from family and friends, but for one Morden girl it was all about handing them out.
Sadie Bone had been growing her hair for years with the goal to cut it off and donate it to The Little Princess Trust, a charity that makes wigs for children and who have lost their own hair due to cancer treatment or other illnesses.
"I wanted to make children happy," Sadie said.
"And to make at least one poorly child's wish come true."
So when the big day finally arrived for her 8th birthday on March 8, a staggering 28 inches was taken off.
But that was far from all as Sadie also started a JustGiving page to help raise money for the Starlight Children's Foundation.
As of now she has raised more than £500 in overall donations and there is nobody prouder than her mum Jennifer.
"Sadie is such a good, kind girl with a loving heart and beautiful soul who really wants to help to make at least one child's wish come true during what must be a very difficult time in their life," Jennifer said.
"She is also more than happy to donate her hair to help to raise donations and awareness."
