A fundraiser has been started to help the family pay for the funeral costs of a Battersea teenager, who was brutally murdered earlier this year.

Lejean Richards, 19, was stabbed to death five minutes' walk from Prince George's school on February 5.

Family and friends are appealing for people to donate, to help give the "beautiful" teenager a fitting send off.

A close friend said: "We would like to thank everyone for their ongoing prayers and support after the tragic death of are beloved Lejean, he was only 19 years old and was just starting his life.

"He will not now get to experience life. No one should have to die like this, this needs to stop. Enough is enough. No more children should be subject to these traumatic events.

"Please keep his family and friends in your prayers at this difficult time. We are trying to raise money for Lejean's funeral, so if there’s anything anyone can give to help us do this one last thing for Lejean to give him the best send off we can it would be much appreciated no matter how small."

Lejean worked as a delivery driver for his local Dominos and planned to return to college after a stint in jail.

He supported his mother and 14-year-old sister. Two men, aged 23 and 18, were charged with murder on February 23.
