The mother of missing Battersea woman has thanked the public for their support, after a Go Fund Me page was started.

Joy, 21, a midwifery student at the University of Hertfordshire, has been missing since December 26.

On February 26, Hertfordshire Police rearrested and charged a 40-year-old on suspicion of murder.

Since then, a Go Fund Me page has started to help fund Joy's burial. However, he mother, Carol, said that she still believes that her daughter is alive and has pleaded for her to come home.

"Thanks very much for everything, especially the support we have received. It is overwhelming to the point where I have cried on many occasions.

"I have spoken to people who have helped me and they have said they are praying for my daughter to come home.

"I cannot put into words how grateful I am for the support. I am not on my own, even though that is how a feel sometimes. We are all in this together and want to find me daughter."

As of March 1, $14,014 had been donated to the Go Fund Page.
