There are three certainties in life: death, taxes and lorry drivers getting stuck in the Lower Downs Road Bridge.

In what has become somewhat of a Raynes Park tradition, lorries have been either getting trapped or barely scraping through the tunnel for decades.

This was meant to stop in 2016 when a bright yellow sign with the words "low bridge" was placed above the notorious site.

But it just hasn't done the trick as pictures of drivers caught in prickly positions just keep emerging.

Now for what is believed to be the first time of 2019, a driver has been caught on camera (on January 24) ripping his lorry to shreds while trying to manoeuvre through.

It is unsure how the vehicle eventually escaped but the bridge has since been cleared and ready to accept its next victim.
