An 11-year-old actor from Richmond was left with a broken foot after she said a Deliveroo cyclist hit her.

Aiyana Bogolubou was walking home from school on Lower Richmond Road, when she said she was hit by the cyclist.

But she said the cyclist did not stop and she was forced to hobble home. When she got home her mother, Danièle, discovered that she had badly hurt her foot.

She said: "I can't believe that the cyclist did not stop, or that no one else saw and helped Aiyana.

"She was walking on the pavement and there is a cycle path across road, why wasn't he using that?

"She told me he was travelling really fast and just cycled on. We are so angry.

"I have contacted Deliveroo multiple times but they have not responded to me."

A Deliveroo spokesperson said: “We take road safety very seriously and require our riders to obey the highway code and rules of the road at all times.

"We are deeply saddened by this incident and we have apologised to the young girl and her mother profusely. This matter is the subject of an investigation and we will not hesitate to take action when rider behaviour falls short of the high standards we expect.”
