Joe Aribo is going to be out "for a little while" after he picked up an injury in Charlton's win against Gillingham, according to Lee Bowyer.

The midfielder missed the Boxing Day clash with Coventry City, in which the Addicks would lose out late following an 89th minute winner from Tom Bayliss.

Bowyer didn't give a specific timeline for when Aribo would come back but said "it's not looking good" following defeat to the Sky Blues at the Ricoh Arena.

He said: "He's going to be out for a little while. We [Charlton] don't pick up a weak injury or a 10-day injury, it's long-term so I think Joe's one it's looking like it's no different."

When asked whether he knew the number of weeks Aribo would be out for, the Charlton boss added: "Not yet, no. I don't want to guess but it's not looking good.

"[Darren] Pratley has come in and worked hard, got his goal, it's just disappointing the amount of times we've been in and around it in the game and then they score at the end. It's sickening.

"We've given everything and left everything out there so it's disappointing."

Pratley grabbed his first league goal for Charlton when he headed home the equaliser shortly before the hour mark against Coventry, cancelling out Jordy Hiwula's 42nd minute opener.

He started in midfield and continued his return from injury after missing the back end of November and the opening weeks of December.
