Tom Bayliss hit a late winner as Coventry City dented Charlton's playoff hopes and ended their own seven-game slump on Boxing Day.

Darren Pratley headed home an equaliser for the Addicks following Jordy Hiwula's opener in the first half.

After the Addicks struggled to contain their opponents in the opening 45 minutes, they found themselves on level footing, but the Sky Blues eventually settled the tie in the 89th minute.

Here's how we rated Charlton's players...

Jed Steer - 7 - Got to the danger really well and had some considerable saves to make. Solid performance.

Anfernee Dijksteel - 6 - Not his best game. Got in trouble a couple times defensively, especially after failing to clear a header away that Coventry could've scored from.

Jason Pearce - 6 - He's had better performances but still did reasonably well. Crucially got his body in front of a shot during the first half which looked destined for the net.

Patrick Bauer - 6 - Similar to Pearce in terms of performance. Had a better second half than first, though.

Chris Solly - 7 - Left back is not his most preferred position but some of his interventions were absolutely vital. Made a couple huge blocks to prevent threatening shots on goal from the wing.

Krystian Bielik - 8 - He was at the heart of Charlton's midfield; breaking up attacks which came his way while being a key outlet to get the ball forward. Very impressive showing. Replaced by Lapslie.

Ben Reeves - 7 - Very much tried to make things happen through his set-piece deliveries and playmaking before being brought off for Marshall 10 minutes into the restart.

Darren Pratley - 8 - Looked awkward in the left wing role Bowyer put him in, but he's not a natural left winger either. Still did a sound job. Got the equaliser shortly before the hour mark.

Tariqe Fosu - 6 - Didn't have a huge influence, struggled to get on the ball as much as he'd like but used his energy to help out in defence.

Nicky Ajose - 6 - A quiet 45 minutes for him. Made the runs to try and get free but didn't have the service. Was through on goal before Dujon Sterling made a last-ditch challenge. Replaced with Grant at the break.

Lyle Taylor - 6 - Had very, very few opportunities at goal so he used his abilities in different ways. Made an awful late challenge which he was deservedly booked for.
