A man trapped in his car in Sunbury on Thames was reportedly rescued by firefighters in the early hours of Monday morning.

Firefighters were reportedly called at around 3am on December 24 on Staines Road East near the BP garage following a crash.

A Facebook post on the unofficial account of Esher Fire Station reveals the man had to be cut out of his car so ambulance crews could take him to hospital.

Images shared online show the wreckage of the burnout car left on the side of the road with its door cut out.

In the Facebook post, Esher Fire Station unofficial wrote: “Very tricky RTC at 3am last night for Esher, along with Sunbury and Staines.

“We had to cut the driver out so that the ambulance crews could to take him to hospital, we hope he recovers well.

“Great effort by all at such an ungodly hour of the morning”.

Surrey Police have not been able to confirm the incident.
