A person has died after being hit by a train earlier today.
National Rail confirmed that the incident took place between Victoria station and East Croydon.
The company advised that because of this some lines are blocked and services running between these stations may be cancelled or delayed by up to 30 minutes.
Services to and from Victoria are heavily delayed, and two out of four lines are currently closed.
Wandsworth Common station is currently not being served by a train service in an effort to "alleviate additional delays."
Gatwick Express services will be suspended across the route while some Southern services may divert to and from London Bridge and other Southern services may be cancelled.
A statement posted on National Rail's website read: Whilst the emergency services deal with this incident, power to the railway lines has been switched off on some lines.
"During this time, there will be a limited service in and out of London Victoria as well as the necessary service alterations outlined above. Two out of four lines along this route remain out of use until further notice.
"Southern work closely with The Samaritans and support the work that they do.
