A warehouse in Mitcham will be transformed into a gym.
Plans to convert a warehouse in Mitcham Industrial Estate has been given the green light by Merton Council.
It is set to be run by Kings Gym, which already has a branch in Croydon.
Once up and running it is expected to employ 17 full time staff as well as eight part time.
The proposed opening times are from 5.30am-10pm Monday to Friday and from 9am-6pm on Saturdays and until 5pm on Sundays.
The site in Streatham Road borders the grounds of Beechholme Primary School and includes 14 parking spaces.
The Croydon gym costs £30 a month to use and also has a pay as you go rate of £5 per day.
It’s website says: “Kings Gym is for the people who are serious about fitness, physique and healthier living.
“It is where you achieve your personal best and surpass your fitness goals.”
It is not known when the Mitcham gym will open.
When contacted the owner said he did not wish to comment further at this time.
