A new tattoo parlour could be coming to Thornton Heath.

Plans have gone in to the council to convert what was Roosters Hut in Brigstock Road into a tattoo shop.

A planning application was validated by Croydon Council on Wednesday (November 14) and has already received 18 public comments.

Of the comments,  just one is an objection, the rest in support.

The shop is currently unoccupied.

A letter from the applicant, Anthony Miller, said: “Tattoo parlours have now entered mainstream life and there are no other businesses

of this kind within the local area.

“This proposal will not have an unacceptable impact on the character or appearance of the property or street scene, due to the fact that no external alterations will be carried out.”

He adds that the business would operate from 9am-10pm Monday to Saturday and 10am-6pm on Sundays.

Public consultation on the plans is open and a decision is expected to be made by January 9.
