An empty bank in Petts Wood could be set for a new lease of life as a wine bar.
Plans have been submitted to convert the former Lloyds Bank in Station Square into a “high quality” bar offering wine-tasting and cocktails.
The building has been empty since the branch closed in March, and The Substantia Group said a bar would offer something different to the town.
According to the documents submitted to the council: “The principal objective of the proposed change of use is to offer patrons an alternative to the minimal ‘drinking establishment’ offerings nearby.
“The wine bar will have a heavy focus on a high quality experience and a more relaxed environment offering a wide range of high quality wine and bar snacks served in comfortable surroundings.
“The objective is to create an inviting and inclusive environment for all people
seeking an alternative to a mainstream public house or micro pub/craft beer establishment elsewhere in the wider area.”
If given the go-ahead by the council the new bar would open from midday until midnight, seven days a week.
Petts Wood already has two traditional pubs as well as a micropub.
The plans are currently being considered by officers at Bromley Council.
