Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal crash in Richmond this morning.
Officers were called at 12.27am (November 10) to Hampton Court Road following reports of a person being hit by a car.
A 60-year-old man was found suffering serious injuries and he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
His next of kin have been informed.
At this early stage officers are working to establish the full circumstances of what happened.
A 36-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, drink driving and possession of class B drugs.
He was taken to a south-west London police station, where he remains.
Officers believe that there may have been a female occupant travelling in the vehicle who fled the scene and enquiries are ongoing to trace her.
