A man has been detained under the mental health act, after reports of a person on a bridge near Twickenham Railway station today.
The Met Police received a concern for welfare call regarding a man on a bridge near Twickenham Railway Station at 7.53am on October 29.
Police officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and rescued him.
The Met Police said officers spoke to the man, aged in his 20s, and brought him to safety.
A spokeswoman for the British Transport Police said: ‘Officers were called to Twickenham station at 7.58am today following concern for a person’s welfare.
‘Colleagues from the Metropolitan Police also attended, and a man was sectioned under the Mental Health Act and taken to hospital.’
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called at 8:02am today to Twickenham Railway station to reports of an incident.
"We sent an incident response officer, an ambulance crew and our hazardous area response team to the scene.
"We treated a man and took him to hospital."
